Dream Foods that We Crave.

Caviar – Kevin

My dream food is caviar. Caviar is one of the most expensive food in the world and I have not tasted it in my life. Caviars are roes from fish called sturgeons. The most common sturgeon species that produce caviar are beluga, oestra, and sevruga. These species mostly live in the Caspian Sea. I am really curious to taste it because it is so expensive and rare. Most people say it’s ok and some say it’s really good. I want to try it myself so I can have the experience and taste my own dream food.

I have never tried this chicken wings but I really wanted to try this wings. They look so tasty and delicious. 10 pieces of wings will cost around $45 USD. 100 pieces will cost around $1,000 USD.

World’s Most Expensive Hot Dog – James

This is the Juuni-Ban. It is the most expensive hot dog in the world with the price of $169. I discovered the juuni-ban through a YouTube food series by Buzzfeed Company called Worth It. Worth It is a YouTube series where the two hosts, Andrew and Steven, compare 3 different types of food on 3 drastically different price points. The juuni-ban is a 12 inch smoked cheese bratwurst topped with butter-teriyaki grilled onions, maitake mushrooms, wagyu beef, foie gras, shaved black truffles, caviar, and Japanese mayo on a brioche bun. You can get it in a food truck named Tokyo Dog in Seattle, Washington. But, Tokyo Dog has officially closed because of some family and life issues. But, if Tokyo Dog was still around, I would definitely go to Seattle and buy the juuni-ban.

Fried Rice.

Baji Pamai (Nasi Goreng Merah) – Danny

Baji Pamai is a Makassar cuisine based restaurant that is located in Kelapa Gading. This restaurant also sells other meals than fried rice such as noodles, soups, etc. The fried rice they sell here is not the typical fried rice that you’ll get from other fried rice stall, the fried rice that they’re selling is traditionally from makassar that normally colored red. The fried rice is colored red because they use tomato sauce as one of the main ingredients. Even though it looks weird with the red color, but It does taste good with  little bit sweet from the tomato and also savoury. They also use some toppings on it like shrimps, fishballs, and also some meats. This is a very recommended place to eat if you feel you want to try something different. The price for the meal is only Rp. 55,000 and the atmosphere at the restaurant is also very comfy. Nasi Goreng Akang – Kevin

Akang is a restaurant which serves mostly noodles such as kwetiau and fried rice. They have many restaurants all around Jakarta. The fried rice there is like other fried rice with dark color. You can have the fried rice with beef or seafood. It is really nice and the price is around 50,000 rupiah. I prefer the fried rice with the beef because it is a perfect combination between fried rice and beef. The taste of the beef is perfect when combined with the taste of the fried rice. Many people also said that the seafood fried rice is also good but I never eat it because I’m allergic to shrimps. The seafood fried rice also comes with fishes and squids which also blends perfectly with the taste of the fried rice. They also decorate it with leaves and spring onions which makes it look really delicious and it also have a nice smell. Nasi Goreng Istimewa – James

The place where I got the Nasi Goreng Istimewa is at Ninety-Nine Restaurant in Grand Indonesia Mall, South Jakarta. Its price is Rp. 99.000. Even though it is pretty pricey, it tastes really good even though of its hefty price. It contains one stick of chicken sate, one chicken breast/thigh, some Indonesian-styled crackers, and some Indonesian garnishes. When I tried the Nasi Goreng Istimewa, it tastes really good and in my opinion, does taste better than its price tag. The restaurant, Ninety-Nine, is a restaurant in Grand Indonesia. It ranges on many different types of cuisines such as Indonesian, Western, Chinese, and even some Turkish. There are also various types of food. For example, they have many kinds of sandwiches and steaks, which can make customers confused because there are so many options for the customer. Overall, I really like the ambience of the restaurant and the vibe of the restaurant. I really recommend everyone to go there.  (Pic: Nine, Ninety. “A Special Take on a Common Indonesian Dish That Fits Perfectly to Be Enjoyed at Any given Moment. .” Twitter, Twitter, 15 Dec. 2018, twitter.com/ninetyninejkt/status/1073804846757806081.)

  Bad-Ass Fried Rice – Hans

I chose a fried rice which is located in The Garden, PIK, North Jakarta. This specific fried rice is named “Bad-Ass Fried Rice”. The Garden actually serves a lot varieties of food but I chose to this fried rice because it represents Indonesia and it tastes so delicious. This fried rice is named “Bad-Ass Fried Rice” because this fried rice is spicy but sweet at the same time. They’re rich in spices. The fried rice is also served with slices of wagyu which is tender and the wagyu kind of melts when we eat it. The small portion of fried rice was kinda surprising compared to the generous size of grilled wagyu luckily it was delicious. The fried rice has a nice wok-fry aroma with great spicy taste. This fried rice cost 90k. This Bad-Ass fried rice is definitely worth a try because with this price they can serve you with a very delicious fried rice with slices of wagyu steak on top. Conclusion

We chose the best fried rice (in our opinion) we could find in our distinct areas. So, in our opinion, these are the best of the best. But you can try these unique stalls in your free time.
